The brachioradialis is a superficial muscle of the forearm that lies in its posterior compartment. Although positioned in the extensor compartment, the brachioradialis functions as a flexor, especially when the forearm is semi-pronated. This muscle can be palpated in the lateral (radial) aspect of the forearm. It is one of the few muscles in the posterior compartment that does not cross the wrist joint
