The wrist joint - also called the radiocarpal joint, is found between the distal ends of forearm bones and the carpal bones, and is strengthened by the following ligaments:

Radial carpal collateral ligament of the wrist joint - extends between the styloid process of the radius and the scaphoid bone - one of the proximal carpal bones;
Ulnar carpal collateral ligament of the wrist joint - stretches between the styloid process of the ulna and the triquetral bone, which also belongs to the proximal row of the carpal bones;
Palmar radiocarpal ligament - extends from the styloid process of the radius and from the anterior surface of the distal end of the radius to the proximal row of the carpal bones and the capitate bone, which is in the distal row;
Dorsal radiocarpal ligament - arises from the posterior surface of the distal end of the radius to the proximal row of the carpal bones.
