The deep part of the anterior compartment of the forearm consists of muscles situated beneath the superficial flexor group. These muscles are positioned close to the radius, the ulna, and the interosseous membrane. They play essential roles in fine motor control of the fingers, including the thumb, as well as in pronation of the forearm.
