The extensor carpi ulnaris is a long, fusiform superficial muscle of the forearm that lies in its posterior compartment. It extends between the elbow and the little finger. Like other muscles of the posterior compartment, the extensor carpi ulnaris is an extensor muscle, providing extension and adduction of the hand at the wrist joint.
