Anatomy.app Content News in June

Summer’s finally here, and so are the heatwaves. But watch out - the temperature isn’t only rising outside. A big heatwave of fresh and hot content is coming your way, and trust us, you’ll feel it! Summer vibes are in full swing, and no matter if you’re soaking up the sun, powering through your studies and hitting the books, or doing a bit of both, we’ve been busy behind the scenes to bring you some exciting new updates.

This month, we didn’t just add new content - we created experiences. We have just released a brand-new 3D article in the 3D Anatomy section, added a massive batch of sharp, fresh illustrations to our Media Library, plus a video that brings anatomy to life and also launched our collection of USMLE-style quizzes (Yes, you read it right! Our first set of USMLE-style quizzes is now live in the Quizzes section.). No matter where you are enjoying your summer, our freshly added content is ready to keep your neurons firing.

Buckle up, stay hydrated, and explore what we’ve prepared. We promise you - this summer will be full of surprises, and you might even surprise yourself with how much you’ll learn.😎

1. 3D Anatomy: New 3D Article

Some updates deserve a spotlight of their own, and this one absolutely does. We’ve taken one of our existing articles in the 3D Anatomy section, Arteries of the male pelvis, and given it a complete transformation. What used to be a relatively basic overview is now a fully reworded, richly detailed resource that feels brand new from start to finish.

We have revised everything - the 3D models have been completely updated to reflect clearer vascular relationships and anatomy. Also, the textual descriptions have been rewritten to guide you through the pelvic arteries in a more structured, user-friendly way. And that’s not all - we’ve also added a whole lot of new slides. In fact, the article now features 17 slides, each dedicated to a key artery supplying the male pelvis.

You’ll find detailed information on both internal and external iliac arteries, along with their major branches. This is an essential piece of information for understanding how the pelvic region is supplied. With all the structures and relations that the pelvis has, this update is one you won’t want to miss.

2. Media Library: New Video

We’ve also added a brand-new video to our Media Library that brings muscles to life - quite literally. The video focuses on the action of the temporalis and masseter muscles during the elevation of the mandible, showing exactly how these two major primary muscles of mastication contribute to jaw movement.

To make it crystal clear, we’ve used color coding in this video. The temporalis and masseter muscles are highlighted in blue when they’re active, helping you visually track their role during the movement. When these muscles are not working, they return to their standard appearance (brownish color). This is a simple yet effective way to understand muscle activation. We are all about clarity.

This kind of dynamic visual is especially helpful for dental and medical students, physiotherapists, and anyone studying the biomechanics of mastication or temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders. The video offers you a clear and accurate visual tool to work with.

3. Media Library: New Illustrations

We know visuals are game-changers when it comes to learning anatomy. Because of this, we went really big this month. We’ve added a massive batch of fresh illustrations across several organ systems, boosting both our Encyclopedia articles and the Media Library. These freshly added visuals are here to make anatomy feel clearer, more connected, and easier to grasp.

In the digestive system, you’ll find new illustrations of the esophagus, pancreas, and biliary system, helping to break down the complexity of gastrointestinal anatomy. For those exploring blood flow, we’ve enriched our cardiovascular system with illustrations covering the arteries of the male and female pelvis. These illustrations are ideal for anyone studying regional supply or clinical correlations.

We’ve also added new materials to the muscular system. The primary muscles of mastication are now more vivid and sharper in detail than ever. These new materials are a great complement to our latest 3D content and video. And last but not least, we didn’t forget the skeletal system. Check out the updated illustrations on cranial sutures and freshly added visuals on the spinal ligaments, all designed to help you better understand how structure supports function.

So, if you’re a visual learner (or just love crisp anatomy art), now’s the perfect time to browse the Media Library and explore these freshly illustrated topics.

We’ve just launched something completely new in our Quizzes section, and it’s a game-changer for anyone preparing for medical exams. For the first time, we’re offering USMLE-style quizzes, designed to reflect the structure, tone, and challenge of the real United States Medical Licensing Examination. These quizzes are ideal for students preparing for USMLE Step 1 and Step 2, as they offer a realistic way to test their knowledge, strengthen clinical thinking, and build exam confidence.
