Anatomy.app Content News in August Vol. 2

It’s only been a few weeks since our last Content News blog post in August, and our team hasn’t taken a break since. In fact, we’ve been so fully immersed in creating, updating, and polishing content before the new learning season starts that this month, we’re bringing you another Content News blog post. And who says there can only be one per month?
So, this round of updates includes a brand-new 3D article on the Veins of the male pelvis, an updated 3D Facial muscles article with even more detail, plenty of fresh illustrations, and new quizzes to challenge and engage your knowledge.
While classrooms and lecture halls are preparing to open their doors again, we’re making sure you step in equipped with the best tools. And now, let’s take a closer look at what we’ve built to kick off the season.
1. 3D Anatomy: Updated 3D Article
Our 3D Facial muscle article has just received a major update, and while we’ve always had facial muscles in Anatomy.app, this version feels like something entirely new.
Over spring, we reworked every single muscle of the face, and the result is probably one of the most detailed and realistic representations of facial anatomy available today.
Alongside the revised 3D materials, all texts were completely rewritten, reorganized into smaller sections, and enriched with additional slides. This means a clearer structure and a more detailed learning experience.
For instance, the orbicularis oculi muscle is no longer presented as one block - now you’ll find separated slides for its different parts, making the complexity of this muscle easier to grasp.

2. 3D Anatomy: New 3D Article
We’ve also just added a completely new 3D article dedicated to the veins of the female pelvis. This material highlights the main venous pathways and their tributaries, with a particular focus on the common iliac veins, external iliac veins, and internal iliac veins.
The article also covers important venous plexuses - vesical, anorectal, uterine, and vaginal venous plexuses. This way you can see the detailed overview of the interconnected venous networks in this region. Altogether, this article features 17 slides, each focusing on a specific vein for clarity and structured learning.
Since this is a gender-specific article, it also includes the uterine and vaginal veins. (For comparison, the veins of the male pelvis are available in a separate article.)

3. Media Library: New Illustrations
Alongside new 3D content, our Media Library has also grown with a wide range of new illustrations. These additions cover both the thoracic wall muscles and the posterior abdominal wall muscles, providing detailed overviews as well as focused looks at individual structures.

Those recently added illustrations include the following:
- Thoracic wall muscles (overview)
- Posterior abdominal wall muscles (overview)
- Quadratus lumborum muscle
- Psoas major muscle
- Psoas minor muscle
- Iliacus muscle
- Iliopsoas muscle
- Pectoralis major muscle and its parts
- Pectoralis minor muscle
- Serratus anterior muscle
- Subcostal muscles
- Transversus thoracis muscle
- Subclavius muscle
- Levatores costarum
These new visuals make it easier to study muscle locations, relationships, and details across regions.

4. Quizzes: New Quizzes
Besides all the mentioned updates, we’ve also refreshed our quizzes to match the latest 3D content. The Facial muscles quiz has been revised and updated to the latest version to reflect the newly upgraded 3D article, ensuring that all questions and attached illustrations align with the information included in the article. At the same time, we’ve introduced a brand-new quiz on the Veins of the male pelvis, providing a complementary learning tool to our recently released 3D Veins of the male pelvis article.
The Veins of the male pelvis quiz is available in different difficulty levels to suit learners at every stage. The base and intermediate levels contain 17 and 18 questions, respectively. The advanced level has 30 questions, while the expert level includes 33. The updated Facial muscles quiz is similarly structured to provide a comprehensive challenge. The base level has 22 questions, the intermediate level includes 34 questions, the advanced level offers 71, while the expert level has 94 questions.
We always update our quizzes alongside the corresponding articles to ensure that learning and testing go hand in hand. This gives students a seamless way to check their understanding and reinforce their knowledge.
