The tympanic canaliculus is a small canal that goes through the petrous part of the temporal bone. Its opening is found on the inferior surface of the petrous part within a bony ridge between the jugular fossa and the external opening of the carotid canal. This canaliculus is also known as Jacobson's canaliculus or inferior tympanic canaliculus.
