The parietal foramen is an inconsistent opening that is present at the posteromedial aspect of the external surface of the parietal bone. It is found near the occipital angle and close to the sagittal border of the bone. It serves as a passage for the parietal emissary vein. The parietal foramen is a variable opening, and sometimes it is absent.
