The lesser palatine foramina are small openings (usually two) that are found on the inferior surface of the pyramidal process of the palatine bone. These openings are positioned posterior to the greater palatine foramen on the posterolateral corner of the hard palate. They lead into the lesser palatine canal that transmits the same named nerves and vessels.
