Dorsal nerve of penis

The dorsal nerve of the penis (latin: nervus dorsalis penis) is one of the terminal branches of the pudendal nerve in a male.

The dorsal nerve of the penis passes anteriorly along the ischiopubic ramus deep to the perineal membrane, then it runs on the dorsum of the penis to the end in its glans.

Along its way the dorsal nerve of the penis gives off muscular and urethral branches.

The dorsal nerve of the penis innervates the corpus cavernosum and the skin of the penis, while the muscular branches of the dorsal nerve of the penis supply the deep transverse perinei and the urethral sphincter. The urethral branches supply the mucosa of the urethra.
