Lateral sural cutaneous nerve

The lateral sural cutaneous nerve (Latin: nervus cutaneus surae lateralis) is a branch of the common peroneal nerve.

The lateral sural cutaneous nerve runs along the lateral head of the gastrocnemius, below the crural fascia, and at the middle of the lower leg pierces the crural fascia where it unites with the medial sural cutaneous nerve to form the sural nerve.

The lateral sural cutaneous nerve provides the innervation of the skin on the lateral side of the lower leg till the lateral malleolus.
