Uterine veins

The uterine veins are venous blood vessels that accompany the uterine arteries along the lateral aspects of the uterus. These veins are situated within the layers of the broad ligament. The primary function of these blood vessels is to drain deoxygenated blood from the uterus, including the endometriummyometrium, and perimetrium. They also receive blood from the vagina and may receive blood from other related pelvic structures.
