The deep circumflex iliac vein is one of the major tributaries of the external iliac vein (Read more!), joining it slightly above the inguinal ligament (approximately 0.8 inches or 2 centimeters) on the lateral side of the vein. Each deep circumflex iliac vein is formed by the union of the venae comitantes (accompanying veins) of the deep circumflex iliac artery.
