The anterior cranial fossa is composed of the sphenoid, ethmoid, and frontal bone. Anteriorly and laterally, the anterior cranial fossa is bounded by the frontal bone. Posteriorly, the lesser wings and the body of the sphenoid separate the anterior cranial fossa from the middle cranial fossa.
