The posterior cranial fossa is mainly formed by the sphenoidoccipital bone, and temporal bones. Anteriorly, it is separated from the middle cranial fossa by the petrous part of the temporal bone and the body of the sphenoid. Posterior aspect of the fossa is formed by the squamous part of the occipital bone.
