The maxillary sinus is the largest and most inferiorly positioned paranasal sinus. It is situated in the body of the maxilla. Its opening is called the maxillary hiatus (Read more!), and it is found on the nasal surface of the body. The maxillary sinus drains in the middle nasal meatus.
