The venous drainage of the spleen is provided by the splenic vein (v. splenica). It also travels within the splenorenal ligament (lig. splenorenale) and is found below and posterior to the splenic artery (a. splenica). Opposite the splenic artery, the splenic vein usually has a more straight course.
