The iliacus muscle is a flat triangular-shaped skeletal muscle of the posterior abdominal and pelvic walls. It is located within the pelvis and fills the iliac fossa. Together with the psoas major muscle, the iliacus forms the iliopsoas muscle. It extends between the ilium of the hip bone and femur.
