The ductus deferens has the following four parts:

Scrotal part - portion that extends along the posterior border of the testicle (Read more!) from the tail of the epididymis (Read more!) to the superior pole of the testicle;
Funicular part - part that travels along the posterior aspect of the spermatic cord to reach the superficial inguinal ring;
Inguinal part - portion that travels through the inguinal canal, extending from the superficial inguinal to the deep inguinal rings;
Pelvic part - segment that exits the deep inguinal ring and travels along the wall of the pelvis; this portion contains the ampulla (Read more!).
