The lens is a transparent, biconvex, ellipsoid structure that is located in the anterior aspect of the eye between the posterior chamber and the iris anteriorly and the vitreous body posteriorly. It is a light-bending structure that focuses light rays going through the cornea onto the retina. Like other refractive media of the eyeball, the lens also does not contain any blood vessels or nerve cells.
