The iris is a circular, contractile, and heavily pigmented anterior part of the vascular layer. It is located anterior to the lens (Read more!) and posterior to the cornea (Read more!), and is immersed in aqueous humor. The periphery of the iris is attached to the ciliary body (Read more!), while centrally it presents with an aperture known as the pupil
