The venous drainage of the kidneys is provided by the vessels that follow the same course as the renal arteries. Multiple segmental and pre-segmental veins unite at the renal hilum to form the left renal vein and right renal vein that flow into the inferior vena cava (Read more!) at the level of the L1 or L2 vertebrae.
