In females, the arterial blood supply of the urinary bladder is mainly provided by the vesical, vaginal and uterine arteries.

The upper part of the bladder is supplied by the superior vesical artery, originating from the umbilical artery (from the anterior trunk of the internal iliac artery).

The lower part receives arterial blood from the inferior vesical artery and vaginal artery in females. Both of these vessels are branches of the internal iliac arteries.

In females, an additional blood supply is provided by the uterine artery.

Sometimes also obturator and inferior gluteal arteries (from the anterior trunk of the internal iliac artery) give branches to the bladder (in both - females and males).

Venous drainage

The venous drainage of the bladder is provided by the vesical veins, which arise from the vesical venous plexus - a network of small vessels located on the lateral and posterior surfaces of the bladder. The vesical veins flow into the internal iliac veins.
