The arterial blood supply of the female urethra is primarily provided by the internal pudendal arteries (Read more!) and vaginal arteries, both are branches of the internal iliac artery (Read more!). The internal pudendal artery gives rise to the urethral artery, while the vaginal artery provides urethral branches. In addition, the inferior vesical branches of the vaginal arteries may sometimes also contribute small branches to the urethra.
