The proximal epiphysis - proximal end or extremity of the radius is the disc-shaped or cylindrical end that connects with the humerus. It articulates with the capitulum of the humerus, forming the humeroradial joint that is a part of the elbow joint. Also, it forms one more articulation with the radial notch of the ulna - the proximal radioulnar joint.
