Pudendal nerve

The pudendal nerve is a mixed nerve that originates from the ventral rami of the second to fourth sacral nerves (S2 - S4). Rarely, it also receives contributions from the fifth lumbar nerve (L5)first sacral nerve (S1), and fifth sacral nerve (S5). Overall, it provides motor and sensory supply to the perineum and external genitalia. Like other nerves, the pudendal nerve and its branches show anatomical variations, including differences in size, course, innervated structures, and the number of branches.
