The proximal segment of the RCA gives off the following branches:

Conal branch - it is also called the right conus artery or infundibular artery; it is the first branch of the RCA; however, sometimes it arises directly from the right coronary sinus, in which case, it is referred to as the third coronary artery; the conus artery passes between the infundibulum (conus arteriosus) and the upper part of the right ventricle, terminating at the superior aspect of the anterior interventricular sulcus and supplying the conus arteriosus and upper anterior portion of the right ventricle; it anastomoses with the left conus artery from the left coronary artery (LCA) or proximal left anterior descending artery (LAD) and forms the circle of Vieussens;
Atrial branches - small arteries that are very variable in number, location and size; supply the anterior surface of the right atrium;
- Sinoatrial nodal branch - it is the main atrial branch that terminates in the sinoatrial node (SA), supplying it; in about 50 - 60% of people, it originates from the RCA (40 - 50% from the left circumflex artery (LCx)); it ascends posteriorly along the right atrium posterior to the ascending aorta and terminates by encircling the lower aspect of the superior vena cava and giving off branches that go to the sinoatrial (SA) node;
Anterior right ventricular branches - one or two arteries that supply the anterior aspect of the right ventricle.

Note: The conus arteriosus is a cone-shaped pouch formed by the upper and left angles of the right ventricle. It is a site from which the pulmonary trunk arises.
