Anatomy.app Content News in November

The time really flies, and we can’t believe it is already November. And not just any November, but the kind that brings frost flowers on the windows, cozy sweaters, and those winter boots that were put somewhere far away. It also means that the fireplace and tea season has officially started, and the October-to-November transition also means that our monthly Content News blog post is here. As always, we’re excited to share the latest updates and additions!

This month, we’ve given one of our 3D articles a makeover, added a few brand-new illustrations, and included a fresh video in our Media Library. Plus, our Quizzes section is keeping things interesting with a brand-new quiz to test your anatomy knowledge.

And now, it’s time to jump in and see what’s new!

1. 3D Anatomy: Updated 3D Article

After working for the past couple of months, we’re finally ready to present a completely renewed version of our 3D Innervation of the male pelvis article. Although we refer to it as an update, it is more like a complete rebuild. We’ve been refining the structure, visuals, and text of this article to offer a clearer, more comprehensive look at pelvic innervation.

The renewed article now includes 26 slides, covering all nerves of the lumbar, sacral, and coccygeal plexuses in detail. Additionally, it also includes slides on the dorsal rami of the spinal nerves. All textual information was rewritten, and every 3D model was replaced with a fully new version. Plus, we’ve added a ton of new slides.

The result of our hard work is a significantly more detailed article that presents the innervation of the male pelvis more clearly and comprehensively. We think it’s a strong step forward from the previous version, both in clarity and visual quality. We promise: understanding the neural networks in the male pelvis has never been easier.

2. Media Library: New Video

We’re excited to introduce a new video in our Media Library - the Action of the suprahyoid muscles. This video demonstrates how these muscles contribute to the depression of the mandible, providing a clear and dynamic way to understand their functional role. To make the video even clearer, we have highlighted the muscles in blue at the moments when they are active. This makes it even easier to understand how and when they work together.

The suprahyoid muscles are four paired muscles that are located in the anterior compartment of the neck above the hyoid bone. They include the mylohyoid, geniohyoid, stylohyoid, and digastric muscles. They elevate the hyoid bone and help depress the mandible when the hyoid bone is fixed. However, not all muscles of the group contribute to the mandibular depression. In the video, it is clearly shown which muscles of the group are active during the mentioned movement.

By visualizing the coordinated action of this muscle group, learners can better understand the mechanics of mandibular depression, the relationships among these muscles, and their roles in functional movements. This addition makes our Media Library even more comprehensive for anyone studying head and neck anatomy.

3. Media Library: New Illustrations

During November, our Media Library also received a fresh batch of new illustrations focusing on the nerves of the male pelvis. These latest visuals complement our existing 3D content and are designed to make the studies of the nervous system even clearer. Each illustration highlights the anatomy, course, and branches of pelvic nerves, helping learners understand their relationships and functions in a simple yet precise way.

4. Quizzes: New Quiz

We have one more update for you - our Quizzes section now includes a new quiz on the innervation of the male pelvis. It is designed for learners at every stage of the process. It comes in four difficulty levels - base, intermediate, advanced, and expert. And each level includes a mix of question types, such as single and multiple-choice questions, identifying structures from images, completing sentences, and filling in the blanks. This variety makes it a dynamic and engaging way to test your knowledge.
