Anterior division of internal iliac artery

The anterior division of the internal iliac artery gives rise to more branches than the posterior division. These branches mostly supply the visceral structures of the pelvis. However, they also provide arterial blood to the parietal structures of the pelvis, gluteal area, and thigh.
