Sutures between the neurocranium and viscerocranium are junctions that connect the bones forming the braincase and the bones forming the facial skeleton. These include the following sutures:

Frontonasal suture - a relatively short suture that is found between the inferior aspect of the nasal part of the frontal bone and the superior border of the nasal bone; it runs transversely at the nasion; each frontonasal suture fuse with its counterpart medially;
Frontomaxillary suture - a short suture situated on both sides of the nasal bones between the frontonasal suture and frontolacrimal suture; this suture connects the frontal process of the maxilla with the nasal part of the frontal bone;
Frontolacrimal suture - another relatively short suture that is formed between the orbital part of the frontal bone and the superior border of the lacrimal bone; the combination of this and two previously mentioned sutures (paired frontonasal and frontomaxillary sutures) looks like one continuous suture;
Ethmoidolacrimal suture - connects the posterior border of the lacrimal bone with the anterior aspect of the orbital plate of the ethmoid;
Ethmoidomaxillary suture - it is found in the bony orbit; this suture links the maxilla with the orbital plate of the ethmoid bone;
Palatoethmoidal suture - a short suture that is found deep in the bony orbit; it is found between the orbital process of the palatine bone and the ethmoidal labyrinth of the ethmoid; it is a continuation of the ethmoidomaxillary suture;
Frontozygomatic suture - found at the lateral aspect of the orbital rim; formed by the articulation between the zygomatic process of the frontal bone and the frontal process of the zygomatic bone; in most people, the frontozygomatic suture ossifies around the age of 80, in others - even later or never;
Sphenozygomatic suture - another paired suture of the skull; it connects the greater wing of the sphenoid bone with the zygomatic bone; this suture participates in forming the lateral wall of the orbit, as well as the temporal fossa; closure of this suture occurs between the 5th and 6th decades;
Temporozygomatic (zygomaticotemporal) suture - a short suture that connects the zygomatic process of the temporal bone and the temporal process of the zygomatic bone; it is the most lateral suture of the face; also, it is one of the last sutures to close; it participates in forming the zygomatic arch;
Sphenomaxillary (pterygomaxillary) suture - found at the site where the maxilla and the sphenoid bone are most closely located; it connects the maxilla and the pterygoid process of the sphenoid; above it is the pterygomaxillary fissure;
Sphenovomerine suture - this suture is best seen on the external cranial base; it is found between the body of the sphenoid and the superior border of the vomer;
Nasoethmoidal suture - a deep suture that is found in the nasal cavity; it connects the nasal bones with the perpendicular plate of the ethmoid; this suture participates in forming the nasal septum.
