Maxillary nerve (CN V2)

The maxillary nerve (CN V2) is the second branch of the trigeminal nerve (CN V). It contains general somatic afferent fibers that carry sensory information to the central nervous system (CNS) from the middle parts of the face - upper gingiva, teeth of the upper jaw, skin of the middle part of the face, mucosa of the palate and the nasal cavity, nasopharynx, upper lip and cheek.
