Borders and surfaces of parotid gland

The parotid gland has three borders (anterior border, posterior border and medial border) and four surfaces:

• Superior surface - corresponds to the base of the gland;
• Superficial surface - lateral surface that is positioned between the anterior and posterior borders;
• Anteromedial surface - found between the anterior and medial borders;
• Posteromedial surface - situated between the posterior and medial borders.
