Arterial blood supply of salivary glands

The arterial blood supply of the salivary glands is provided by the branches of the external carotid artery. Overall, the facial artery and lingual artery supply the submandibular gland and sublingual gland, while the parotid gland is perfused by the terminal branches of the external carotid artery - the maxillary artery and superficial temporal artery.
