It was first described by George H. Wilson in 1911. The Curve of Wilson is defined as a mediolateral curve made by an imaginary line contacting the buccal and lingual cusp tips of the right and left mandibular premolars and molar teeth. This curve must be concave in the mandibular arch while convex in the maxillary arch.
