The centric occlusion (CO) is a type of a static occlusion. It is a static occlusion of opposing teeth when the mandible is in the centric relation. It is always made by patients when they get asked to bite their teeth together. The centric occlusion is also the contact between the most significant number of opposing teeth, so the centric occlusion is tooth-determined (tooth-tooth relationship).
