The maxillary lateral incisor is very similar to the maxillary central incisor. However, its incisocervical length is usually longer than the mesiodistal length. The maxillary central incisor is approximately the same length in both directions. Also, the maxillary lateral incisor has a longer root, and its incisal angles are more rounded.
